Self-righteous high school biology teacher, accused by a student of advocating for creationism.

PATRICIA LASSITER (F), Adult

High school principal on the council to reprimand Bryan Mitchell, but a long time friend and advocate of him.

JESSICA FRANKS (F), Adult

School board president on the council to reprimand Bryan Mitchell, who is intent on punishment and suspension, because of PR and personal issues.

HAROLD DONOVAN (M), Adult

School board member on the council to reprimand Bryan Mitchell, who is empathetic to his defense.

WILSON (F), 50-65

A sadistic prison guard in Hell who takes gleeful pleasure in manipulating the resident cellmates with psychological torment in order to keep them fighting with each other. Comic relief.

THEODORE (M), 65-75

A defensive, resentful man who spent his life feeling victimized, especially by his longtime tormentor (and now cellmate in Hell) Augie. Indignant, argumentative, entitled, self-righteous.

AUGIE (M), 65-75

A former bully whose selfishness and cruelty damaged people in his life. After being bullied in Hell, Augie has awareness of the harm he caused in life and is now trying to atone for it. Initially combative, then perceptive and remorseful.

An ambitious, self-absorbed actress whose lifelong pursuit of success prevents her from fully appreciating the people and moments around her. Theatrical and witty.

CLIFF (M), 45-75

A warm, thoughtful poetry professor who values simple joys and human connection over ambition and achievement. Grounded, patient, quietly wise.

DIRECTOR (M/F), 30-75

A compassionate and sometimes frustrated guide who directs the “production” of Lillian’s life while pushing her toward acceptance and self-awareness. Insightful, firm, and impatient.
